    <li> problem with positioning

      Hi all, I have created this horizontal accordion with css, and it works nicely. However, it has moved over to the right by about a centimetre and I think this is due to the fact that each part of the menu is a list item with a bullet type of none.

       

      What's happening is that it has shifted over so much that only three of the five menu items are now visible. How do I get the list item to move to the left and fill the space that the bullet would've been in? The spacing between each menu item seems greater than it should be too.

       

      I know this is fairly basic css info, but I can't seem to get it to work and this is one of my persistent css bug bears! Sometimes it works for me and sometimes it just won't. For example, I have built a similar list-based menu using tables for structure rather than css, and it fits perfectly! I just can't see any reason for one to work and the other to not
