Deleting useless foreign system fonts?

My new Photoshop CS5 has about 100 or so chinese, japanese and arabic fonts that I'll never use.

I started to delete some from font book and got a question : These are system fonts! Do you really want to delete them?' or something to that effect.

I assume I ought to just delete them anyhow, right?

I suppose this whole problem is because when I used Migration Assistant I didn't disable the foreign fonts.

I'm really afraid to reboot my machine at this point, hoping I can correctly reinstall the OS and get rid of the fonts and extra drivers at that point.

So any comments would be appreciated about possible directions to go with these extra useless fonts.

http://monolingual.sourceforge.net/ ... the multiple language support in OS X may be what hangs on to these fonts. This app will not remove the fonts but it might resolve some broken dependencies if you yank the fonts.

(I'd just wrangle a font collection instead of deleting stuff)

Be advised that Bridge uses one of the Asian system fonts to
draw the stars when you apply a rating to your image files.

At least this was the case as of CS4. I do not know if that has changed.

You may want to ask over in the Bridge forum.
