1. Re: Slow performance: Contribute
RickEEE Nov 5, 2010 7:06 AM (in response to RickEEE)Does Contribute read the Design Notes information? I noticed that Dreamweaver does, but at least displays a message indicating that it does.
If Contribute does, it would help explain the pauses and waits. Anyone know?
Another 'shot in the dark' to help explain the slow performance - I have Contribute Publishing Services rollbacks set to 40 (a business requirement). Does this large number of old files in any way affect every day Contribute performance - edits, publish, ... ?

RickEEE Nov 17, 2010 8:37 AM (in response to RickEEE)Additional information:
I"ve also noticed delays/pauses outside of Contribute, for example in Windows Explorer. Although not the 15-45 second delays that Contribute exhibits, these delays in Windows Explorer are noticable, about 3-5 seconds. Examples include changing a file name or moving a file into a folder.
Am hoping someone has some ideas or solutions, soon. Time is running out for Contribute, although I believe the problem will travel to its replacement...

RickEEE Nov 17, 2010 9:41 AM (in response to RickEEE)Also, the status pop-up window frequently does not disappear and I cannot close it. I have to drag it out of the way to edit a page. Once the page is Published, the pop-up window disappears as it should.

4. Re: Slow performance: Contribute
RickEEE Apr 11, 2011 8:43 AM (in response to RickEEE)Deleting the Configuration folder in the Contribute sandbox (C:\Documents and Settings\xyzUSER\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe\Contribute CS3) fixed the slow performance issue. Contribute automatically recreates that folder on next application startup. Have also noticed that occasional regular purging of this directory is needed, depending on how often Contribute is used. I'm an all-day long user, every day, so once per month purge seems appropriate. Adjust yours accordingly.
