Nice forum you got here! Hopefully someone can shed some light on something for me.
Ok so I just purchased the Master Collection, and I'm trying to get a 2D cartoon idea worked out. My buddy is a sketch artist and has done about 10 or so character sketches for me. I scanned and colored them in Photoshop, and planned on importing them into Flash and applying bones to them and going on with animating from there.
However the bones I added alter the entire image, even AFTER I used the break apart command. Can somebody please tell me what I'm doing wrong? I thought this was very possible to do. My artist would rather pencil sketch, so if anyone can help me out with a step I'm missing that would be greatly appreciated. I feel like I was getting somewhere and being productive, but now I feel like I'm at a stand still.
I'm new to Flash, so I'm sure there's much to learn, but this is sort of the beginning of the madness.
Thanks again guys!
you will have to import each appendage segment as separate images.
so you will need to have upper arm, lower arm, hand, upper leg, lower leg, foot all as separate elements.
watch these videos. they don't go into the bones tool necessarily but they do show the complexity of character animation
