    HTTP Service vs URLLoader

    VirtualCoder

      Hi Folks,

Besides confusing us noobs, why on earth would aAdobe have 2 classes that pretty much do the same thing? Did they badly screw up the first one or is it a simple case of left hand not knowing what right hand is doing?  In any case, which one would you recommend and why?

      Thanks,

HTTP service is the higher level function . You get only 2 handlers result and

fault (need to introspect yourself the root of the error) and also a

requestTimeout to specify the timeout for the request. Some other extra goodies

are attached check the docs. URLLoader is lower level embedded inside flash

player. You have to add your own timeout logic, but you have explicit error

          handlers.

Which one to use? depends on the context I guess. Dig into the docs for more

example and you probably figure it out yourself.
