MXF what? P2? XDCAM? Something else?
How are you importing the files? Do you have the folder structure intact, or are they just bare files?
They are from Sony XDCAM.
I'm importng just like i use to do in cs4.. they are just bare files that i'm importing for some folders. Is there a new procedure to import files in cs5?
I find it easiest to just import the whole BPAV directory and skip the messages about unsupported files.
Assuming you're not using the trial version :
if you can't import XDCAM EX files using the Media Browser, which will only import what Premiere needs, then there is something wrong with your installation.
PPro CS5.02 woks with all flavors of XDCAM EX files including those from the 350/320 cameras.
I always import the EX footage into the computer via the Sony Clip Browser software. This will ensure that the file structure is imported properly.
Importing into PPro5 via media browser should be trouble free.
You can also transfer the XDCAM EX files from the SXS card to the HDD using Windows Explorer.
Just give it a shot, it works fine now.
That was it, i was running the trial version --'
I just checked the adobe infos and it says that in trial version HD is not supported. Guess i should have read it first --'
Thank you all for your help
Now that the mystery has been solved, you know what to do: proceed to checkout and edit those XDCAM EX files to your heart's content.
