# Resizing certain frames and tweens on 1 layer

I have created a series of classic tweens in one layer starting on frame 30 through frame 60.  How can I shrink just those frames and scale the tweens with them so they are proportionate to what I had originally, without moving those frames over before frame 30?  So I want them to still start on frame 30 but I want to end at 47 now instead with the tweens still there and proportionate distances that I had originally set up?

Thanks,

KristieC.

You can click down on a keyframe and drag it along the timeline.  So just do that and relocate them proportionally... you may not be able to get the same proportions exactly since you've gone from 30 frames to 17... I doubt the numbers will work in your favor in that way.

I am not sure what you mean by proportionally and am assuming you mean if you had 4 frames between keyframes followed by 8 frames between keyframes, the proportion would be 1:2, so if you change the first to 2 frames, the second would change to 4 frames.

Thanks Ned, yes, you are correct by what I mean by proportionately.... I just didn't know if there was a way I could grab frames 30-60 and shrink them all together instead of manually doing the math to relocate them?

None that I know of.

It's one of the benefits of the new motion system

Sorry for the late response jdehaan, but what do you mean by new motion system?  Is that a feature in cs5?

I don't know if Jen will be back to reply, but I believe the mention of the new motion system regards the new motion tweening methodology versus the classic tweens.  The wink may be due to the reactions here that prevail regarding the new tweens.  I haven't moved beyond CS3, so I have yet to encounter them.

gotcha... yeah, you can do it with the new motion tweens but I was curious about on the classic tweens as well. The motion tweens don't have as much flexibility as the classic tweens do, or not as much as I wish it would.  Thanks again Ned.

Hi KristieC,

Please let us know your enhancement requests. There are numerous workflows that we know of (ie: easing between keyframes),but we want to make sure that we're aware of as many individual workflows as possible.

New motion has a lot of flexibility that classic tweens don't, and classic tweens have some that new motion doesn't. The aim is to add the rest of that flexibility in.
