    Control Surfaces

    P.W. Fenton

I didn't see any place to set a controller up, like a "Red Rover" or an "Alphatrack".  Will that capability be part of the release version?

At this point in the development cycle, it is unlikely that controller support will be implemented and tested in time for this release.  It is high on the priority list for the next version.

Are there any other control surfaces that you'd like to see supported in the future?

I think supporting the OSC protocol would be a great move.

                Rick -

That's a superb idea. Which OSC devices do you use (or, would you like to use)?

                  Hi Scott,

I'm thinking the iPad and TouchOSC in particular.

                  Cheers!

The Mackie (MCU) protocol would be really nice as well.

                      Is this on the horizon?

                      Thanks!

I have a PreSonus FaderPort I'd like to use if you've got the spare cycles. I've also got a RedRover so whatever's customary...

P.S. Missed you guys at AES 129. Thought you might have a booth there. I guess that show is getting smaller.

Charles, myself and the engineering manager were there, but no booth. The show has shrank considerably over the years for exhibition, but we try to get folks there to attend the papers and standards committees.

                            Colin,

It use to be anyone with a product that was vaguely related got a booth

at AES. I guess budgets are tighter now.

I use to go to these things every year or so but now that I have moved

up to the "Great Pacific Northwest" it's harder to get to them. Still

it's nice to see old friends and find out what's new once in a while. I

spent my time in the broadcast sessions this year.

I'm glad Audition is finally coming to the Mac. I have had a license

since way back when it was Cool Edit Pro. When Adobe bought it from

Syntrillium I thought "...finally it will get ported to OS X!". It's

taken a while but I'm glad it happened. I converted most of my life to

Unix decades ago and when Mac went to a Unix-like OS I switched all my

non-server kind of things over to the Mac. I think Audition was about

the last "have to have" application that kept me with a few Windows

                            machines running.

I just hope Apple doesn't decide that IOS should be the OS for

everything they make. Hard to imagine but who knows. Ready to port

                            Audition to IOS?

Most of us are somewhere in the Great Pacific Northwest.  You'll take note of one of the presets for the app colors in the Appearance preferences page.

Might be worth a new thread, but we welcome peoples thoughts of just what audio tools people would like to see from us on iOS, Android, or any other mobile/portable platform.

Yes, anything with a scrub/shuttle wheel would be great. For longer files jogging back & forth with the wheel beats the mouse any day.

Given the quantity of work I have to create, Audition is of no use to me without control surfaces support. There is so much about this program that I love, but I need to be able to interface with PreSonus Faderport to optimize my workflow. Please try and sneak this in as I (and many others) have been waiting so long for a Mac version of Audition. Thanks!

Eucon adaptation would make this program a good choice as an editor and general addition to any post production studio.  At the very least you should consider HUI but Eucon is the future.

                                              Hi everybody !

Newby in this forum, but nevertheless highly interested !!!

As far as I'm concerned, I'd LOVE that my YAMAHA n8 Digital mixer (DAW Remote Control) would be supported in Audition for Mac !!!

Yamaha want customers to use their Cubase AI 4 software, but when you have been working for so many years with Cool Edit Pro and then Audition, you pray

every morning for our great soft to be compatible with Mac (nearly done now... ), and further on with the hardware we work with...

Thanks for great work, and keep the hands on the wheel !

If Audition supported the USB HUI and had preference definable

functionality that would go a long way.
