    Simple pagination in toolbar

I saw something today for the first time--I had a document opened up, and what was called page 1 was actually the seventh page of teh document (pages i through vi of preface and table of contents, etc.). I told Acrobat Reader to print pages 7-52, and it started at page 7 of the document.  I am so used to printing PDF files with the prefatory pages counted as page 1, 2, 3, etc., that I don't think I'll ever get used to this newer method. Is there a way to have Acrobat Reader count page i as page 1? That way, when I want to print pages 7-52, it would eliminate those first 6 pages of prefatory matter, and start with page 1 of the actual text itself.

Sorry if this seems confusing, but I've never seen this before and am not too sure how to explain it.
