The programs install in separate directories and operate independently. Having one on your computer won't interfere with the other.

During the installation Elements 9 offered to convert my 8 catalog. I
declined because I didn't know if it would leave the 8 catalog in place.
In any case, my purpose was to see if 9 had the same problem as 8. It did so
I am uninstalling 9.

Can you be specific about where it "still appears on the hard drive?"
I can't copy the program list on F/ but the setup program is still there but
when i try to run the setup it hangs up and says "ERROR 1311source file not
found F\data1.cab. Maybe you can tell me which are Adobe photo or elements
