I heard this was called isolation mode? Where if you double click a shape it will dim out the program so you can focus on one area. How to remove isolation mode? So it never comes up again when you double click a shape...I found the isolation mode get in the way when I don't even want it. It's also in adobe illustrator too
that would be in the preferences panel. in flash that's edit/preferences. but i don't think you can disable isolation mode in flash.
to edit an object without surrounding objects being displayed, double click the symbol in the library. if it's not a symbol and therefore not in the library, right click and click convert to symbol.
in illustrator, you may be able to disable isolation mode by unticking "Double Click To Isolate" option in the preferences panel, general tab.
