I have been editing a HD file of approx 12Gb and am in the stage of fine tuning the clips.
My problem is that after adding a transition effect and trying to render I come up with 2 seperate error messages
The first one is [..\..\Scr\PathUtils.cpp-190] when I press contiue the render function box opens and starts but no rendering happens.
When I cancel out of that a second error comes up[..\..\Scr\Win\WinPathUtils.cpp-504].
Together with this, the autosave function seems to be crashing. It seems as if these issues are tied up with the Scratch Disc settings but I am not even sure what they do??
I'm new at this.... but that seems to be a different type of error
My laptop is new and completely dedicated to this first edit project.
Nothing else runs on it so I have speed and RAM a plenty.
I have removed the 4 clips that couldn't be rendered and it still comes up with the same error
If your computer is brand new, make sure you've fully updated it (new computers are often months out of date), downloaded the latest Quicktime,
cleared off your tmp files and given the computer a good defragmenting.
The computer needs a good defragging to handle large video files.
