Premier Pro CS5 crash on IMac when exporting media

    PsyP

      Hello

I am editing short clips to export as MPEG2. They are for use in another programme. Initially this worked fine but now CS5 crashes part way through the export most of the time. It has worked intermittantly.

The Mac OS X is version 10.6.5

      Any ideas?

      thanks

Start a new project and import your clips into the project and drop it on the timeline.  is there a progress bar on the lower right?  That's the audio being conformed (wave form of the audio generated).  If your clip is long, it takes a few moments for this to get done (once).  That may be your problem.

Make sure you're using Premiere Pro 5.02.

          Trash your preferences.

          Clean your media cache.

          Hope this helps,

          Dennis

Hi Dennis I did as you said.

I did not see the progress bar on the lower right.

I have upgraded to 5.0.2 and cleared the media cache but I am not clear how to trash the preferences.

            It has worked intermittently since.

            thanks for the help
