Bart Cross Nov 23, 2010 6:40 AM (in response to Soula-55)If you're going to be using Premiere Pro, then go to the Premiere forum, they have links for the best machines. If the machine satisfies Premiere, it will easily satisfy Photoshop. You can pick and choose according to your budget.

Aegis Kleais Nov 23, 2010 11:52 AM (in response to Soula-55)Premier Pro CS5 is 64-bit only. You'll need 64-bit version of Windows 7, which will support over the 4GB limitation that the 32-bit has.
I run:
i7 920 2.67GHz
12GB DDR3
GTX 285 OC (don't spend $800 on a video card; that's a waste)
My rig eats up Photoshop like it's nothing. The only thing slow for me about Premiere Pro is its startup time. (Like After Effects). I got the Video Production Premium CS5.

John T Smith Nov 29, 2010 9:22 AM (in response to Soula-55)My CS5/AVCHD 1st Impressions http://forums.adobe.com/thread/652694?tstart=0 includes a link to the computer I built... since the GTX 285 is no longer sold, I would now go with a GTX 470
For my home hobbyist, family movies (which means that I am not trying to recreate Star Wars with video effects or many layers) AVCHD editing is "as smooth as spreading warm butter on hot toast" (also the MP4 video from wife's Flip camera)
My 3 hard drives are configured as...
1 - 320G WD Win7 and all programs
2 - 320G WD Win7 swap file and PPro projects
3 - 1T WD all video files... read and write -

Zeno Bokor Nov 29, 2010 12:18 PM (in response to John T Smith)I've heard a rumor that the GTX 570 should get released on the 7th of December so maybe wait a bit until it gets released and get that instead? (assuming of course that the rumor turns out to be true)
