      I went to http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ using Chrome to check my Flash Player version.

      So the newest version of Flash Player is 10.1.102.64.

      But Chrome has a newer version (10,1,103,19) What is Google up to?

            Hi,

            Chrome packages it's own version of the Flash Player so that it is updated with the rest of the browser. There may be times that the released version from Adobe's download site isn't the same as the one used by Chrome due to release date to partners and to the public. I believe that both Adobe and Google aim to provide synchronized deployment dates and releases to the Flash player, but due to a number of reasons related to the actual update process, this might not be as easy as one would imagine.

            Chrome, however, is still able to use the system installed version of the Flash Player. In order to to do that, follow these steps:

            1. Write about:plugins in the adress bar. You'll be presented with a page listing all plugins installed on Chrome;

            2. Click on the +Details button in the top right corner of the list;

            3. Scroll down to the section where the Flash Player is referenced;

            4. You should see two entries in this section. One for the Chrome player and one for the system player. You can distinguish both by looking at the install location. Chrome's will be inside its application data folder;

            5. Click the disable link in Chrome's version of the player;

            6. Click the enable link in the System's version of the player.

            From then on the About Flash page on Adobe should report the correct release version.

            Rui.
