Another strange twist. I tried to use the manual controls and attempted to record (I had the time codes written down) and I get the error message no capture settings defined. In the capture settings I have as captire format DV and in the settings for that I have During Preview nothing is checked. During Capture both items are checked. Under Device Control, Device = DV/HDV device control. In DV/HDV device control panel Video Standard = NTSC, Device Brand = Cannon, Device type = DM-GL1A, Time code format=auto detect, Check Status = Online.
Other software to try...
SD capture http://windv.mourek.cz/ or http://www.scenalyzer.com/main.html
Do note that the demo version of ScenalyzerLive puts a watermark in the files it creates
- I'm told that the OLD version is freeware... check the download page for details

Also, be sure your firewire driver is the one with LEGACY in the title
>windows server 2008
OK... all bets are off... that is not a supported version of Windows
You may get program features to work... or you may not
The only driver on the computer
I am working on is a Texas Instrument 1394 OCHI Compliant Host controller. I googled 64 bit legacy drivers and found a few like ATI and Matrox. Will these work? I am also running 2 pci video cards (NVIDIA Qudro FX 4800).
There are three different drivers bundled with Windows7. One of them is the 'Legacy' variant.
we only have the server 2008 r2 software
Then that may be your problem.
I have found the problem. First I
reloaded the Drivers to the IEEE1394 (Acutally found the IEEE Legacy driver), Did not help.
After a long and diligent research, I found out that my Audio was disabled in the BIOS, so I enabled it.
(later I found out that this helped a little) But still no Audio. Went to the control panel and enabled the Audio.
Now it works.
Thanks for the help.
