We have a class full of students using Premiere Elements 8. All their files were saved to a network drive. When we go to open their project we get the following message:
"Projects created with Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Premiere Elements are not compatible. Please use the appropriate application to open this project.
We don't have Pro installed at all so unsure why it would think that. Files have not been moved. Kids are on the same machine (HP E8000 running XP).
Help - kids are getting frustrated and I'm not sure how to help them.
Welcome to the forum.
Unfortunately, PrE (and PrPro too) does not work well in a networked environment. It wants to see certain files locally. This is a real problem with an academic lab situation. I would first contact Adobe (link at top of page), and then I would file a Feature Request. I have done so in the past, but the more from academicians the better.
For a few lab situations, Adobe has been able to help get things set up, so that they work, at some level, on a network.
