1. Re: Blu-Ray Stops Playing at 1st Chapter Marker
theGadgetGuy Nov 30, 2010 11:13 AM (in response to theGadgetGuy)OK. I think I found the issue but not sure why!
When I set the project up in Encore in the Flowchart window I set the Timeline icon (linked to by the disc as the 1st play item) to an End Action of STOP.
Since it was the entire timeline that was my 1st play asset, I assumed that the STOP End Action would be at the end of the DVD.
BUT, apparently it Stops when it encounters the first Marker.
If I go to the Timeline in Encore and click on the individual Markers, all of them but the first one have an End Action of "Not Set" but the first one has "Stop".
I have just changed that 1st (at the timeline origin) Marker's End Action to "Not Set" and the last Marker to "Stop"
I'm guessing this will fix it. Will report back after I preview things.

2. Re: Blu-Ray Stops Playing at 1st Chapter Marker
theGadgetGuy Dec 2, 2010 1:28 PM (in response to theGadgetGuy)That was it. For some reason on the Blu-Ray disc Encore project (but not the regular DVD project) the Timeline End Action setting of "Stop" was applied to the first marker (at the origin). Because this was also the First Play link target, it appears that Encore set up the flow to first play the initial clip and then End there instead of continuing on to the next one (as intended).
The End Action was correct for the entire timeline, but in the case of this Blu-Ray build an End Action ALSO got assigned to the initial timeline marker, causing playback to cease at the beginning of hte second Marker.
Once I manually overode that initial false end action, the finished Blu-Ray discs play back fine!
Sounds like a Blu-Ray build bug!

Bill Hunt Dec 3, 2010 9:02 AM (in response to theGadgetGuy)Great news, but you were just too quick. None of us had a chance to even reply. Job well done, and thank you for reporting, as it will likely help others in the future.
Good luck,
