I agree with Teerasej Jiraphatchandej that adding mechanisms to use notification manager is a very important feature.
Did you manage to use the Android NotificationManager?
Thanks a lot.
I also think NotificationManager is a must have feature!
Anyone have a solution?
I filed a feature request to expose this functionality in Flex: http://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/SDK-28875 Please vote and leave a comment with your use case.
In the meantime you might want to look into exposing unavailable APIs like in this post: http://elromdesign.com/blog/2010/10/29/hacking-native-android-with-air-app-to-allow-air-ac cess-unavailable-apis/
I'd love to see that feature!
Asked before probably in the wrong fourm:
Would it be necessary to run the app as a service to send notifications, while being in the background?
I checked out that blog post, and while it does show how to compile the app, it doesn't show any examples of actually calling the exposed APIs from Action Script. Is there some sample code somewhere that demonstrates this?
hey guys try this: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/5811848/adobe-air-custom-statusbar
looks like old question, but in case anyone stumbles on this post like I did. found the answer there, very easy to implement.
Guess you are talking about desktop applications, not mobile?
