For a while already I have been hoping that Illustrator would integrate the Preview (W) option that already exists in InDesign for a long long time. This allows you to hide everything that is not going to be printed (bleeds, slugs, guides, etc). For now, I'm going through creating a new layer and add a white frame around it that I can decide to display or not.
This is a bit of a hassle (especially when you start having a good few layers) when you think that in InDesign one can just use a shortcut and it does it instantly for you (and back).
I can see that there would even be 2 possible options: one hiding everything out of the active artboard and the other one displaying all the different artboards but hiding all non-printable elements (as mentionned above).
So please, o please, integrate this function in the next version!
