    Permanently Bypass Link

    jr4292 Community Member

I am creating a splash page for my website. At the top I want to have two links:

      1. Skip to Homepage (viewer will be directed to the splash page again next time they visit the website)

      2. Permanently Bypass this Page (viewer will be redirected to the homepage automatically next time they visit the site)

I know that in order to do this, I have to create a cookie for the permanently bypass link. But how do I create a cookie for this link to the homepage and not on the link to skip to the homepage.

Does anyone know the proper coding for this?

Example I am trying to follow:

      http://uconnhuskies.com

      Thanks in advance!

You realize Splash/Intro pages are not a good thing, right?  Search engines don't rank them highly which is a waste of your valuable domain name home page.

That said, if you want to follow the UConn site example, view source code in your browser to see the JavaScript Cookie code.  It should tell you all you need to know.
