I am an educator and students upload files (usually essays) to my server through my Dreamweaver 8 created site. I now want them to be able to download the files other students uploaded for peer review. Is there an easy solution for that? They would need to be able to view file names in my File Uploads folder on the server, select the right essay, and download it. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

What server models are supported by your server? It would be a simple
matter in ASP/PHP to read the file list on the server, and display it on a
page with links to those files.

For what it's worth, I do this with my invoices. See for example -

          http://www.great-web-sights.com/invoices/g_lister.asp?subdir=tjk

When I cut a new invoice, I just send an email to the client (they have the
link above bookmarked - the subdir has changed, of course), and they just
click on the latest one in the list. I like this because I can name the
invoice with a meaningful title (and include the invoice number).

                    Murray,

Thanks for your reply. It's PHP, so you're idea should work. I'm going to give it a whirl and be back to you if I need more help. Thanks again.

                      Murray,

Okay...I think this might work, but I still need some clarification (sorry!).

Do you have to individually place each link on the page? I was hoping to code it so that the user could search the folder for the file they need/want to download without me needing to post the file or a link to the file.

                      Thanks.

No. The g_lister.asp page parses the proper subdirectory from the URL, goes
there, and lists the files it finds. If there are 2 files or 20, it finds
                          then and lists them.
