    delete bak files and directories

    Level 7
      Dear All,
DW has automatically created a bak files and directories doubling the size
of the site and taking beyond the allocated size. There are dozens of
subdirectories. It would be nice to delete them automatically. Can anyone
      suggest how.
      Thanks,
      Neil

You're talking about the size of the site on the remote side, right?

DW does not create such folders in the local site.

Exactly, it is almost double the size on the webserver, over the version on
                my machine.

You need to do two things -

                  1. Remove the Contribute support from your Remote site definition.
                  2. Connect to the remote site with a 3rd party FTP client, and find and
remove the folder called "_mm" that is at the root level of the site.

At this point, all Contribute functionality will have been removed from the
site, and you can delete those backup folders.

Thanks for the suggestion, however the problem is that there are dozens of
