Welcome to the forum.
With an embedded Intel graphics chip, you might be totally out of luck. Intel makes great chips, but offer little to no graphics driver updates. You can check the Sony site, and hope. There have also been several posts on issues with Sony VAIOS.
With a laptop, one is pretty much stuck with the graphics card/chip, that ships with the unit. There is very seldom a way to add any other card.
Good luck on the Intel, or Sony sites.
Meantime, you should go to the Intel.com page and download the latest drivers for your processor and your embedded card.

Concerning my problem on my Sony Vaio VGN-C140QG : « Incompatible display driver when loading a project (with the intent of burning a DVD) from Photoshop Element 9 to Premier Element 9»
With the help of an Adobe tech specialist (in New Delhi, India) I got Premier Element 9 to work after disabling my graphic card (Intel(R) 945 Express and restarting my pc. However, that procedure stops the screen (display) from shutting down when not in use for a while (in French : Mise en veille). So the graphic card has to be reactivated when not using Premier Element.
Hope this will be usefull,
