AppUp doesn't allow trials nor updates???

      Hi,

      My submission to AppUp failed.

According to the message I got from the AppUp team:

      * App should not have trial period:  "This application is limited to a 3 day trial. Purchasing this application requires an Adobe ID and an Internet connection. If you want to purchase this application or if you have already purchased it, please click the 'Get License' button." If the user selects the "Get License" button they are brought to the Adobe Air Marketplace to make the purchase. Please see the attached screenshots to help you troubleshoot. Upgrade functionality should be disabled within the application"

      * App should have the update functionality disabled as well:  "In-app upgrades that prompt users to upgrade outside of AppUp are not permitted. Please see the description below for additional details about the upgrade path in violation. While testing the application a prompt will randomly appear that will say "Allow the application to check for updates?"

So, that means that if I want to publish my app both on the Adobe Marketplace as well as AppUp, I need to NOT have a trial period (my app is a paying app) + disable automatic updates (I assume that means setting the License Manager's "update mode" argument to false).  As far as configUpdate.xml, I am assuming I should leave it as it, and include it anyway?

Even if I needed to provide 2 different binaries (one for marketplace and the other for AppUp), I don't see any way to do that via the Manage/Publish dialog.  Incidently, I find the fact that the "Publish" button is on every page of the Manage/Publish dialog rather confusing:  if I am looking at the "Intel/AppUp" tab, does the publish refer to publishing strictly to AppUp or to Market as well?  It's ambiguous.

Can you please send me the name of your application so that I can be more precise in my response?

If you publish single binary of your application to InMarket, you can distribute your app to AIR Marketplace  and Intel AppUp. Here is the link to the documentation that will explain you the differences between AIR Marketplace and AppUp:

          http://learn.adobe.com/wiki/display/InMarket/1.3+Preparing+to+use+InMarket

If you have submitted a try/buy application with a trial period, when Adobe distributes your application to AppUp its distributed as a outright buy application without a trial period.

After I recieve the name of your application, I will be able to provide you a more precise answer. Feel free to send me a direct message.
