I am a total beginner to the video editing world.
I just recently uploaded Adobe Premiere 6.0 to my computer, and I am using a
sony AVCHD Handycam. Everytime I try to import a video it says it is not compatible and shuts the entire program down. I am aware that it is an older program and this is a newer camera, but I can't seem to figure out how to convert it. Anyone have some help for me?
1st - this is the wrong forum for Premiere 6x questions, you need http://forums.adobe.com/community/premiere/premierepro_previous
Premiere ELEMENTS is a completely different product
2nd - some notes on codec conversion... be aware that P6 may have a hard time with any HD codec, so you may have to downconvert to SD
Tools to Convert to DV-AVI http://forums.adobe.com/thread/415317?tstart=0
You may need to convert your files to DV-AVI Type II with 48KHz 16-bit Audio
