i would like to preload the assets when the applicationComplete is executed.
Because i first ask the user for the user and password i have enough time to load the assets in background instead of embeding them in the swf file.
Embeding them would make the swf file too big the the user would have to wait longer. Loading them when needed to be displayed would insert a delay while these files are fetched from the server.
I was wondering what's the best way to do that.
Ex: i would like to preload sounds/alerts/incomming-message.mp3 and images/guest-profile-image.gif but not embed them.
I don't know if it's the best way of doing it, but you can always use the Loader/URLLoader classes to load the assets. I've also heard good things about LoaderMax(http://www.greensock.com/loadermax/). I used LoaderMax for a video player I made and I found it extremely nice to work with.
Use modules for anything like that,
inline, parralell, preloads,Images, swf just name it.
