It gets to Importing Layers and then aborts. I just tried a smaller file 332k and it opened up. The original file(s) are 12706k and 150953k. I was designing the entire page in the one file (I thought like the tutorial video.) Are these files to big? Is there a log file to determine what causes the crash?
Thanks for any help with this.
I am not sure what the actual limit is, but there is a limit. I would suggest that you break your PSDs down into sub parts and import them in smaller chunks. This will also assist in laying the foundation for a cleaner file. I would also suggest that you take the time to name your layers. You might find the Flash Catalyst file to be too large. If so, you might need to look at either merging elements and using the Optimize function with Flash Catalyst.
The size limit for a PSD in Flash Catalyst is 40 MB; this is to prevent performance from degrading in Flash Catalyst projects. More details here: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/839/cpsid_83916.html.
