All material brought into a project needs to be conformed for later audio processing. If this is not completed or only completed on external disks with different drive letters, it needs to be redone. If one starts to edit before the conforming finished, it can lead to trouble. Have a cup of coffee while this process is underway.
I do wait for the conforming to finish, otherwise the audio won't preview and yes, trouble can follow.
The issue here is that this one project, when the conforming is finished, does it all over again when I go back to it another day.
The media is where is always was, on an external drive.
What confuses me is why this one project, out of five, does this? The other four are fine.
I know it's not possible to look in to my computer but I'm wondering what the explanation could be?
What might be different about this project that causes constant 'conforming' every time and the occassional errors with it.
that happened to me ( using cs3, so please dont beat me up for contributing in cs5 area ) once when I exported something ( an avi file or something ) and forgot to deselect " add to project " on the export...
So basically, every time I opened that project it got that exported avi and had to "conform" stuff for that one file...very annoying...
I went through the project and deleted that export ( which was now part of my project of course ) and solved the problem...
