For example: "Buttons and Rollovers" has a lot of effects like that.
The Rounded Rectangle Tool and one of those graphic styles is the quickest way I could come up with.

Effect→3D→Extrude & Bevel
♦ Set all the rotation angles to 0.
♦ Look for the Bevel presets.
• Note: the two cylinder shaped buttons below that preset list.

Yes this could work better but keep in mind the effects wrks on Vector only if you have the face of the card is a raster image as indicated fro the sample
then you have to bring that image into AI an then turn it into a symbol. Then map the symbol to the face of the object you wish it to appear with.
