I know the usual protocol is to never edit distribution codecs like h264. But I have I project that would be cumbersome to convert to another format first.
I'm trying to make some adjustments to a couple h.264 clips processed by Handbrake. Usually, movies are interpreted fine. But lately, they are all importing with crazy FPS rates like -32768.00 (which interestingly is 1/2 of a 16-bit register overflow). Even if I interpret footage with the correct FPS, the overall duration is incorrect.
For comparison, Premiere CS5 thinks it's 900000 fps (!)
Quicktime Player correctly identifies the proper duration and FPS.
So I guess AE isn't using Quicktime to handle h264 movies. Any wild ideas how to fix?
1920x800? That may be what's throwing AE and Premiere off (the combo of the frame size and the codec). What was ripped by handbrake to 1920x800?
