    mpg vs m2V

I use PE7 and I am trying to create MPEG-2 files for PS3 playback from DV tapes.

I do not understand why PE7 sometimes creates MPG extension files and other times it creates M2V extensions.

I want to create .mpg files consistently.

M2V is MPEG-2, but with no Audio. The V is for Video. In those files, you either did not Export Audio, or had the Multiplexing set to None, and not DVD. To get a muxed (combined Audio & Video into one file), one has to look in both the main screen, and check Export Audio and Export Video, and then go to the Multiplexer tab, making sure that it is not set to None.

          Good luck,
