I'm using a pixel font and I wish to align the top of the font to a specific y position.
I have tried both the TextField/TextFormat and TextBlock/TextLine methods but I am unable to precisely attain the pixel size of the font.
The second point is that the fontSize seems to bare no resemblance to what is then displayed on screen.
For example I set the size to 16 (which I presume is points) and a print screen and measurement in Photoshop shows this not to be the case.
Anyone offer any help?
Flash accepts font size in pixels - not points. Different OS render fonts differently. In addition, embedded fonts behave differently from the fonts that are not embedded.
If you want to know text size - you can read textWidth, textHeight, with, and height on TextField instance which will allow you to make desired adjustments.
