I've been trying to figure this out for forever now and it's driving me nuts. I have a simple site that I created using Catalyst www.mdgannon.com It has two main custom components. A menu custom component on the left with three buttons, about contact and work, and another custom component on the right which is the main image. Basically what I'm trying to do is figure out how to have text under work that corresponds to whatever image is being displayed on the right. I figure I must have set it up incorrectly because anytime I put text under work it changes in all of the states and not just in the one state. I'm sure I'm not explaining this very well and it may be hard to understand, but if anyone can help me I would be extremely grateful. I'm willing to send you working files it it would help you understand what is going on.
Thanks a lot
It seems like I should be able to duplicate the menu custom component and then change the text and have separate ones for each image state but for some reason when I change the text in the duplicate it also changes all of the other ones. Is there a way to prevent this from happening?
So far the only way I've been able to figure out how to do what I want is to revert the component back to artwork and then completely recreate it as a new component. This is a lengthy process and and a big pain in the butt. I'd love to be able to copy or duplicate the component, change one thing about it and not have it affect the original. Is there any way to do this?
