in components:infoBox create a public property by name
public var ow1:clickableText;
and in mxml
<components:infoBox id="infoBoxMS" ow1="ow1"/>
now the infoBox has the ref to the clickableText;
in the infoBox now do ow1.someProperty;
Thank you for responding. Sorry, but I must not have communicated my situation clearly:
The "ow1" is not located inside the infoBox component, but rather is an instance of a TextArea, that is inside of a Panel that is inside of the main application.
By pushing buttons inside the infoBox, I would like to change properties of the TextAreas inside the Panel.
---------TextArea (want to change properties from function/method in infoBox)
better way to handle this type of senario is to throw custom events...
I'm assuming that you need to do something in the text area after we click on the button..
