Program the Intuous functionality to replicate the space bar being held down. But I think it only does a key click, not a hold down.
I did try this, knowing that it would only be a partial solution if it worked. With the spacebar mapped, I would have Pan functionality, but not Scroll.
However, trying this out revealed that it doesn't matter what function I set the bottom express keys to, After Effects does not respond to them at all. I have tested them in Photoshop, and they work just fine.
Also, I do have the latest Wacom drivers running on this machine.
Again, can anyone else with an Intuos3 tablet confirm the issue for me? It would be good to know if this issue is common to anyone else, or just this particular tablet/pc.
I have been able to reproduce this issue on a Mac Pro with a similar Intuos3 tablet and After Effects CS5. Am I right that at this point I should report this as a bug?
