1. Re: 24p on a DVD?
jackdelamare Dec 22, 2010 9:18 AM (in response to jackdelamare)Also sorry to double post, I realise that you can't have HD on a DVD but that's just the original source to be scaled down to 720x480 or similar. NTSC.

2. Re: 24p on a DVD?
JSS1138 Dec 22, 2010 10:26 AM (in response to jackdelamare)Encore can and does work fine with 24p media under certain conditions. It needs either the required pulldown inserted into the video itself, or it needs the pulldown flag inserted so it can add the required pulldown upon playback.
Bottom line may be to transcode outside of Encore.

3. Re: 24p on a DVD?
jackdelamare Dec 22, 2010 10:28 AM (in response to JSS1138)Well there's a pulldown setting when exporting the video out of Premiere which makes it 29.97, shall I do that for the DVD then? Is that the best route to take with this?
Thanks

JSS1138 Dec 22, 2010 10:29 AM (in response to jackdelamare)Try it. Test with a small section so you don't have to wait forever.

Ann Bens Dec 22, 2010 10:32 AM (in response to jackdelamare)For dvd your 24p footage needs to be 1280 × 720.

8. Re: 24p on a DVD?
jackdelamare Dec 23, 2010 9:08 AM (in response to Ann Bens)Well actually I've filmed a couple of weddings and similar events at 1920x1080 and they've scaled down automatically in Encore for 720x480. However... they've all been 30p.
So my question is how does one do this for 24p films? Is it simply just re-exporting the movie with a 3:2 pulldown?
Thanks
