I was wondering if anyone here or any Adobe employees know how many CUDA cores Premiere Pro is able to utilize per clock cycle of the GPU. I was looking at a benchmark/article here:
This article basically said that from the internal benchmarks performed, as long as a card had at least 96 CUDA cores, you really didn't see much of an improvement by purchasing a card with more cores. Does anyone else have any data or real life experience using various Nvidia cards and the CUDA performance?
If you read the article again, you will see that we didn't see any improvement on our AMD X4 and X6 computers between the GT240 and the 400 series that we used in our test.
However, when we tested these video cards on the Intel I7-980, we did see a difference between the GT240 and the GTX480. But, we didn't see any real performance diffence between the 400 series video cards on the I7-980 system.
As we explain, a lot has to do with your system configuration.
We will be doing more tests over the Christmas holidays and will be updating the article around New Years.
