Let me start off by kissing some butt and say that I've
learned a lot by reading these forums. I decided to build my first
Flash site and I've run into a scripting problem that I am sure
will be elementary to most but I just can't seem to figure it out.
I've looked through the forums but to be honest, I don't quite know
what I'm looking for. Here's what I have.
I have a simple menu navigation that when you rollOver the
text, the text changes, I have an onRelease event that uses a
function to keep the text in the over state when clicked. I then
have a function to roll the text back to normal when another button
is pressed. Here's the part I am having trouble with.
Two of the buttons have a drop down of sub buttons. When I
click the corresponding main button, the menu drops down into place
and stays there (that is what I want). What I can't figure inside
my little head is the function I need to have the menu roll back
into place when one of the main buttons are pushed. I tried
something simple like adding a line of code in say the Home button
that will play the closing clip, but you already know what happens
there (whenever Home is clicked, the closing clip is played).
So my question is can someone help me out with the function I
would need to make the menu close only if it is already open to
Thanks in advance, I appreciate any help I can get. I've
added a link to DL the .fla. It was too large to attach, (544.kb).
I realize the layout and build may not be the best, but I improve
on it as I go. I also removed a lot of the stuff that didn't relate
to the buttons to make it smaller.
