Just passing on what I've read: Some people using PCs have reported that removing Photoshop, reinstalling from their original media, then updating to the very latest works where they haven't been able to get the software updated via the integrated process. I don't know whether this applies to Mac, but it could represent something to try if you run out of options.
But before trying that, have you tried doing a manual installation of the latest updates? You can download the appropriate one(s) directly from the following:
Also, make sure Bridge is not running the the background. Open Task Manager and click on Processes tab and look for any instance of Bridge.exe and close it if you find it.
I have tried doing it manually and it wont work i have also tried to reinstall my computer and that didnt work either
i dont know quite how to check that, is it the same for a mac?
I just tried updating it again and it worked! thank-you so much!
Photoshop CS5 doesn't recognize Olympus E-5 RAW camera but DNG converter does. Can will be any solution for both CS-5 and converter being useful for photographers?

If the DNG Converter supports your camera, the corresponding version of Camera Raw in Photoshop CS5 will too.
Update your Camera Raw plug-in to version 6.3.
While you're at it, make sure Photoshop is fully updated, to 12.0.2 if you're on a Mac, to 12.0.3 if you're on Windows.
