Format mac drives to journaled or not?

I have read that formatting your mac drives to not being journaled is the prefered option for prem on a mac.

It is said that it gives better performance, if so, why?

On mac sites they say setting drives to journaled is better for file searching etc.

Is this the case... I am rebuilding my mac from scratch (to find out what issues exactly my BM card is producing for prem) and would like to know the best way to reformat my drives.

All unjournaled or just the media array unjournaled????

      Any ideas?

      Cheers
