Best way to learn 3D effects in actionscript (3 or 2)

      Hi there,

I am quite comfortable with Actionscripting and using flash. I have done some good animations and some complicated program modules as a freelancer.

Now I want to take my flash knowledge to the next level. I want to be able to program something very 3D-ish.

Cooliris grabbed my attention the other day and I want to replicate it in flash (purely for my own learning purpose)

few other 3D stuff that captured my attention:

      1. http://www.modularweb.net/piecemaker/ - Piecemaker - this is such an amazing piece of work, I am all in awe. Ever since I first saw it, I've always wondered how they managed do all that funky cube stuff. And using it is so easy! I dont even understand why they are making it free! I totally want to be able to make something like this on my own.
      2. http://alt.jalbum.net/Sample%20TiltViewer/ - Tiltviewer - another photo gallery but the 3D effects are just spot on perfect.

Well, you get the idea. I am comfortable with XML and external image loading and all that stuff, but what I totally lack is the understanding of how to make the movie clips seem like 3D - like displaying them on a wall similar to tiltviewer or cooliris.

I really want to learn and I searched this forum (oh, btw, search doesn't work here, may be you are already working on it, but it doesn't display threads - just the topics) and google for a good book on 3d effects on flash there seemed to be so many varied results I dont really know where to start.

Can anyone suggest me a good book or a place that describes this 3D animation in great detail?

      Thank you very much.

looking forward for some good suggestions,
