Recently installed Acrobat 5 (with updates) so I can edit some pdf files...now, when I try to open a pdf in firefox (xp operating system), it defaults to Acrobat 5 instead of opening with Reader.
I went into the Control Panel and set the pdf default to Reader...still defaults to Acrobat 5...where I get this msg...
'The copy of Acrobat/Reader that is running cannot be used to view pdf files in web browser...Exit Acrobat/Reader and exit browser and try again'
Any other methods to set the default to Reader?
Is Acrobat 5 different than Acrobat Reader 5? The chart you reference shows Acrobat reader 5, not Acrobat 5 (assuming they're different)
I'm using Acrobat 5 to edit pdf files...assumed I needed a 'reader' to read pdf...thus using Adobe Reader 8. Still lost
I just read online that Acrobat 5 is too old to open pdf files online within the browser...I think this is my problem...
so how do I force my computer to default to Reader (V?) when opening pdf files online within the browser?
