How to create a cusp type anchor point?

      1. With the pen tool, draw  an isosceles triangle pointed downward.  We're going to change this to a valentine.

      2. Use the pen tool to convert the top two anchor points to curves, and drag the control points so we have a emerald/cone type shape.

      3. Add an anchor point to the top middle of the shape, and drag it down to form a valentine shape.  And now you see the problem.

How do you convert a smooth-curve type anchor point to a cusp type anchor point, in which the control handles can be moved independently of each other?

      Thank you.
