Defining keyframe animations as a template

    Dave__

      Hi

I am new to After Effects and I have looked through the docs for something like this but if it exists, I am coming up blank on finding it.

I would like a way to define a set of animation effects which can be applied to any layer from some kind of defined template, ideally this would not copy the animations but just apply the set of animation and effects from a definition which can be edited after the animations have been applied.

What I am trying to do is apply the same effect to many layers but I am also playing around with it to see what works and what looks good so I would like to be able to just tweak a single animation and have all layers reflect the changes, the best I can come up with at the moment is to copy/paste the relevant animations across to all layers but this is a huge pain already.

      Cheers
