    File size question

    mentlity Level 1

I imported a ppt that was converted to an image sequesnce in a premiere project, dragged each slide into the timeline and added / switched as the narration cue changed. All seems went well except when I saw the size of the output file.

the file is 18:00 in time

there are approx 40 ppt slides saved as jpgs.

an audio narration .mp3 which is 28mb

      Exported for Quicktime

      NTSC DV

      720 x 480

and the .mov is almost 3.95 gigs?

      does this seem normal?

DV will be approximately 13GB / hour. You are a little more than 1/4 hour, so that is about right.

          Good luck,

Assuming that your timeline indication, normally indicated as hh:mm:ss:ff, shown as 18:00 should show as hh:18:00:ff, so 18 minutes overall, yes the size is quite normal.

One hour of DV is slightly less than 13 GB, so 18 minutes is around 3.95 GB.

Why you would export for Quirktime escapes me. Everybody not on a MAC would better avoid QT, since it completely destroys the 64 bit nature of PR CS5.

Yes you hit on another topic. The client wants the presentation in HD as I only exported in QT because the settings were set from the last export I did so I will make the final file HDTV 720 29.97 fps.

              thx for the reply
