is it possible to suggest that a textFrame should increase in height downwards if it overflows? i have a few textboxes that don't go over the page margins, and at the moment i'm creating the textframe with a default height, checking the overflows property, and increasing the height in a while loop.
this is messy for something fairly trivial, so surely there's a neater way?
Well, if you create the text frame right away with the largest possible height, you'd have no problem here. There is no penalty on having a large portion of a text frame unused.
You would still need to check for an overflow, but if you find it all you have to do is add a new page.
well, an example would be better here. i have a few pages that are simply a text frame for the title, and a textframe for the content. i'm creating the textframe with a default height and increasing height if it overflows. then at the bottom of this text frame goes the main content textframe.
