1. Re: Premiere freezes when generating peak file
Bill Hunt Jan 3, 2011 5:23 PM (in response to Joe Riggs)Is that eSATA external formatted as FAT-32? If so, that is likely part of the issue. There is a ~ 4GB limit on file size on FAT-32, and while the PEK files will not likely exceed that limit, the CFA files likely will, depending on Duration.
Good luck,
Hunt

Todd_Kopriva Jan 3, 2011 5:34 PM (in response to Joe Riggs)Look at your RAM usage next time you try this. Is the crash happening as your RAM is used up? 4GB is a very small amount of RAM for a large project.

Joe Riggs Jan 3, 2011 7:23 PM (in response to Todd_Kopriva)No, it's formatted as HFS+.
The ram usage hits about 2 gb and CPU usage hits 60%.

Joe Riggs Jan 4, 2011 10:24 AM (in response to Joe Riggs)Has anyone successfully transferred a large project (multiple bins/sequences/clips) from Final Cut on a mac to Premiere on a PC?
All the tutorials I have watched online only show someone transferring 1 sequence with like 10 clips.
