I had to back up my files to external disc to get new computer. Installed CS5 went to open several projects and all I get is the infamous "No sequence preview preset file or codec." Does it really need to be this difficult to reopen a project? I will need to know exactly what files need to be saved so that I can take projects to other computers to work on them. Every time I have done this, it seems that I lose all of my work. I always save everything, but Premiere won't open anything up unless I keep everything on the computer it was created on. Please advise.
But I did set up a RAID set including the oporating system. I will uninstall the OS and put on separate drive and then reinstall Pr. and try again. That may be it.
I really do need to know, however, what files I should be storing with Pr so that I can be going between computers. That would help a lot. I feel I am missing something.
You will need the project file and the assets (video, audio, images, etc.) at a minimum. If you have any third party hardware/software on the primary rig (Matrox, Black Magic, Red Giant), you may need to consider those as well.
