    Controlling an embedded swf

    P Steven
      I can't seem to find much in the way of documentation on controlling swf assets that I have embedded in my Flex app

      I am trying to control a 3 frame movie clip but I am getting an error

      Here is the code to embed the swf

      <mx:SWFLoader id="headerPanel" x="0" y="0" width="770" height="74" source="@Embed('assets/header.swf')" />

      I am then trying to control it with the following code

      headerPanel.content.status_mc.gotoAndStop("Connected");

      I am getting the following error

      1119: Access of possibly undefined property status_mc through a reference with static type flash.display:DisplayObject

      Can anyone let me know how I can go about this. And also if anyone has any links to information about this subject, it would be most helpful

      I have the following 3 flex books and none of them cover this subject:

      Professional Flex 2
      Programming Flex 2
      Flex 2 with ActionScript 3.0

      If anyone can suggest a book that has good coverage of this subject, I would be very grateful

      Thanks

      Paul
